It’s always fun, as an artist, when you get invited to step outside of the box every now and then. So when our favorite musicians at San Diego Music Studio, where the boys and I take lessons, asked me to photograph this cool little event, I couldn’t pass it up! I have always loved photographing musicians. When I was in college, I tried to spin every photography assignment I could to involve shooting a band. Then, when I headed out into the ‘real world’, I got my lens on a number of local bands, shooting head shots, album art, promo pics, concerts…you name it! And ya know what? While I love photographing families, there’s a part of my soul that thrives on capturing images of people making music. So shooting an impromptu ukulele circle in celebration of Make Music Day was right up my alley!
